Griffin Park Redevelopment

It's been well known that Brentford Football Club have wanted to move from their central Brentford site for years. Their recent plan to ground-share with Woking to cut running costs for the short-term has been thrown out by the FA. The current plan is for a new stadium in Feltham, and to build housing on the Griffin Park site. Images are from preliminary plans made by a small planning firm, looking to obtain outline planning permission for the project.

Apparently the site was originally owned by Fullers, and was donated by them to the football club, with provisos on use of the land as open space. The plans seek to circumvent this with housing where the stands are currently - large blocks of flats at each goal end, and terraced housing along the sides, with an underground carpark in the middle.

Road access is via New Road & Braemar Road; I can't imagine that's going to be acceptable to anyone. This will almost certainly require controlled parking in the existing streets, as I'm sure residents of the 'new' blocks will find it easier to park in roads rather than the underground car park.
