Origins of Road Names

very much a request for content - all contributions greatfully received. I'll ignore some of the more obvious ones - Ealing Road, for example, but any help with the more obscure ones?

Albany Road

Braemar Road - named after a Lord Braemar? Braemar itself is a small town near Aberdeen.

Brentford Dock - the various blocks in this estate are in the main named for Roman emperors, celebrating the reputed crossing the of the Thames here.

Brook Road South - the brook itself runs close to the route of this road it can be heard under a manhole a short way down Lateward Road, and also just north of the A4/M4. Also reputed to break into the Griffin's cellar, and the houses opposite, occasionally.

Butts, the - designated as the practice area for Archery, when it was a legal requirement to do so.

Catherine Wheel Road

Ferry Lane a rowing boat ferry ran from here over to Kew for many years.

Green Dragon Lane

Grosvenor Road

Ham, the

Mafeking Avenue

Marketplace unsurprisingly, leading to the square where the market was held for many years.
